Parent Training

Training helps caregivers better understand trauma, behavior, connection, and the needs of children in care.

Who this is for

Parent Training is designed for foster parents, adoptive parents, guardians, kinship caregivers, and families caring for children who may need additional support.

What happens

Training topics may include understanding the effects of trauma, behavior support, communication, family preservation, foster/adoptive parent resources, caregiver support, and practical tools for supporting children who have experienced instability or loss.

Legacy workshop examples

Legacy event records include trauma-informed parent training, foster/adopt mini-conference programming, youth roundtables, Red Cross preparedness sessions, and family learning opportunities that can inform future training content.

Why it matters

Children heal best when caregivers are supported too. Parent training helps adults build understanding, patience, and tools they can use at home.
